Though not a native of Colorado, I have enjoyed living in the DTC area of south Denver for almost 50 years! My husband Jamie and I have a growing family: 3 adult children, their spouses and 7 grandchildren. Two grands are local and the other five live in Waco Texas. We travel there often and are passionate about doing life with all of them We are thankful they also love Colorado! We are big fans of hosting dinners at home with our family and friends. Lingering around the table at our home with good people, food and drinks is our happy place.

I enjoy spending time in nature connecting with God through his Creation. I am re-energized by hiking, biking and skiing in Winter Park as well as locally in Cherry Creek State Park. When we are not in Colorado, we love adventuring by the beach in Manzanillo, Mexico.

My spiritual journey was launched as a junior in high school through the ministry of Young Life. After college I volunteered as a Young Life leader, went on staff in the area and later was on the SE Denver Young Life Committee. After homeschooling our three kids for four years, I had the joy of teaching Spanish at Cherry Creek High School for seven years. Now as a “seasoned adult,” my time is not only focused on family, but am focused on offering Soul Care via Spiritual Direction, Enneagram Coaching and Mentoring. I am also involved at Denver Community Church, Women’s Walk with Christ, and with a very special ministry of “place” called the Downing House.

My husband and I mentor and lead small Parent Groups through the non-profit organization Embracing the Journey. We walk alongside Christian parents who desire to love their LGBTQ+ children in more meaningful ways. In an online setting, it is a time of community in a safe online group setting.
